About Tessara

Tessara Dudley is a poet, amateur historian, and activist. The graduated from Portland State University in 2017 with a BA in Black Studies, Liberal Studies, and Social Science.

In their spare time, Tessara writes poetry and personal essays. Their personal writing focuses on social justice, and the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, size, and ability.

Tessara is the founder of Mourning Glory Publishing, a radical micro press. MGP publishes books by writers of color, and writers from other marginalized communities. Operating from the belief that society cannot be equitable or just when the voices of marginalized peoples are not valued, the press’s mission is to bring those voices from margin to center, uplifting the words of people of color, trans and queer people, people with disabilities, neuroatypical/neurodivergent people, and others.
